Thunder Rock School is a place where fun is injected into music learning and creation. By placing a strong emphasis on music creativity and infusing that with the latest and proper music techniques, students are guided and provided with the skill that will enable them to forge out a hobby beyond the confines of the bedroom or a possible musical career.
At Thunder Rock School, our teachers are a dynamic team of carefully selected professionals who have all earned a place in the music industry. They are individuals dedicated to preserving and cultivating the music heritage of Singapore. At the same time, they promote and teach music through the different multi-faceted equipments and technology the school possesses. Nestled amidst the school is Snakeweed Studios, where many local bands have been produced and recorded under the expertise and guidance of Leonard Soosay. Thunder Rock School students will also get the chance to record their own works with Snakeweed Studios.
Our teachers strongly believe in the freedom to imagine and create, inspiring one to follow their dreams. To ignite their musical journey, the students are provided with opportunities for recording their own works and performing live at different venues in Singapore. This will provide them with a strong background and infrastructure that will eventually take their musical passion beyond Thunder Rock School.

Why the name "Thunder Rock School"?
"Thunder" was the nickname of local Singaporean musician, Wayne "Thunder" Seah. His untimely passing in 2007 shocked the entire local music scene.
Wayne "Thunder" Seah was an honourable and legendary drummer for the band, The Suns (The Boredphucks). He produced/co-produced a few bands and was passionate and dedicated in pushing the local music scene further, inspiring and touching many hearts around him.
Thunder Rock School is dedicated to Wayne, to celebrate and honour his spirit.

Anybody can sing. It is not difficult to hold a tune. But to be able to sing and inspire at the same time is an entirely different matter.
At Thunder Rock School, we show you the way to discover your own voice. We will not teach you how to sing like Mariah, Katy, or Bono - we will teach you how to sing like, YOU.
Learn how to inspire others with your own voice by grasping essential vocal techniques. Impress people by mastering your own singing style. Discover all the different ways you can sing one song. Finally, be able to create and improvise vocal melodies over any chord progression.

You want to play the keyboard, but you are intimidated by all its 88 black & white keys staring back at you. Honestly, it doesn't matter if you only know how to play one chord, or even one note. At Thunder Rock School. you will learn how to play it well while having fun at the same time!
Our basic 12-week course will focus on helping you understand the fundamentals of basic music terms, chords, and techniques.
By the end of the course, the students will be able to play those songs they've always wanted to play with a tad more confidence. They will then progress to the next level - Mastering the synthesizers before performing live.
The keys may just be black & white, but they will add a splash of color to your life.
Percussion has always been an integral instrument for every form of music ever created. Once used for war songs, worship rites, and celebration rituals, drums have continued to provide rhythms for all sorts of music.
Our drum course at Thunder Rock School focuses on the fundamentals of being a professional drummer. We cover everything from drum rudiments, sticking patterns and techniques, to the essentials of playing drums just like your favorite idol. No matter what genre, we have appropriate and competent drum masters guiding your way. Our teachers are well-known names in the Singapore music scene.
We will take you to the next level and push you beyond your limits.
Ever wondered how music you listen to was produced? Why do some songs sound better than others?
A well produced and recorded song always catches the attention of its listeners. The inspiration and meanings of any artist can be expressed through a good song.
Thunder Rock School aims to inspire young recording engineers and music producers, and give them opportunities to approach music from a creative level. They will learn to become part of the whole music creation process.
Being a DJ means being a performer, having the ability to energize spectators, and being able to bring that level of energy means that the individual has to truly shine in his or her hidden talent in music.
Our specifically designed 3-months course focuses on the the essentials of DJing. This includes technical and performing skills of DJing - beatmatching, live mixing, mix planning and showmanship. Our experienced trainers are renowned resident DJs and electronic music producers.
Outstanding talents discovered from this course will then be given a chance to shine as a budding DJ, through future performing opportunities set in place by the trainers personally.

At Thunder Rock School, we are committed in offering the most effective guitar syllabus for all ages. Whether you prefer the highly distorted tones of an electric guitar or the mellow strums of an acoustic guitar, you will find our method of teaching to be easy to follow, fun, and most importantly, tailored to suit you!
Expect to learn the different techniques that come with guitar playing, so that you will be well equipped to rock out on stage, or if you prefer, in your own bedroom.
