Local grunge band Kill Teddy will be releasing their new single "I Can't Sleep at Night" on 25th June 2014. Before that, we spoke to lead singer Din Ilango about the new single, his band, and their future plans.
1. We heard that you have a new single coming out. Tell us more about what inspired it.
Yes, the song is called " I Can't Sleep at Night". It was written when I had worries at night during my sleep. Worrying about how others think about me or judge me. So, I just got off my bed and picked up my guitar and start strumming and writing . But I fell asleep after an hour or so, of course.
2. When it comes to writing songs in Kill Teddy, what is the band's approach?
Usually the songs were written by how we were feeling at a certain point of time. So basically, we express our feelings and emotions . We make music to express not impress. We hope others get the message that we are delivering and can relate to it.
3. What influences do your band members have?
Each and every one of us share the same and different influences. For example music from Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Jerry Lee lewis, Exploited, Beatles, Grand Funk Railroad to Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Circa Survive, Pearl Jam, Pantera, Extreme, Radiohead and the list goes on and on. Haha. We just love rock music and bands that rock.
4. What's next for the band?
We are releasing our Debut Album soon, which is "Caroline". And we hope to perform regularly so that we can spread our love and passion for music everywhere and to everyone that's possible.
