FAQ
WHAT’S CHANGED?
We are trialing a new way to book lessons and make payments at TRS. Teacher’s schedules are now in view for students and parents to book.
Booking of lessons can be made via the website. Head over to www.thunderrockschool.com/booking to view available timeslots with your preferred teacher. Students are advised to book lessons in advance!
Prior to booking a lesson, a lesson pack should be purchased via the website at www.thunderrockschool.com/lessonpacks
Lesson packs are in sold in packs of 4, 12 and 24. If you do not purchase a lesson pack, single lesson purchases can be also made.
CAN I USE MY LESSON PACKAGE FOR OTHER INSTRUMENTS?
Each lesson package is only unique to 1 instrument.
CAN I SHARE PACKAGE WITH A FAMILY MEMBER/FRIEND?
Lesson packaages are unique to 1 student each and cannot be shared.
HOW LONG WILL MY PACKAGE BE VALID FOR?
Each lesson package carries a different validity period, which will be clearly noted on the Lesson Packages page and on your Product Order Receipt in your email.
CAN I EXTEND OR SUSPEND MY PACKAGE?
Lesson package extension will be granted on a case by case basis. For serious injuries or other special cases, get in contact with us at info@thunderrockschool.com. Documentation may be required.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We've implemented a 12-hour prior to class cancellation policy. We know life gets in the way sometimes, and it’s okay to change your mind, but remember to do so at least 12 hours prior to avoid a late cancellation charge of one lesson credit.
ARE MY LESSONS AT T1 OR T2? (227A OR 189A UPPER THOMSON ROAD?)
Teachers are situated at either T1 or T2 on certain days. You can also refer to your Product Order or Lesson Booking via your email to check the location of your lesson.
WHAT MODES OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
You may make payment online via VISA or Mastercard; or at T1 (227A Upper Thomson Rd) via contactless payment, VISA, Mastercard.
HOW DO I REGISTER AS A STUDENT AND WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION PROCESS?
There is no longer a registration process. Your particulars will be required at every booking or purchase made. Save these details in your browser and you shouldn’t need to keep entering them whenever you make a booking.
AM I ABLE TO CHOOSE MY INSTRUCTOR?
Yes you may. However, please understand that this will depend on the instructor’s availability. Because of the nature of our lessons and how each teacher customizes the lessons to each student’s needs, we strongly recommend sticking to one instructor. It would also be more prudent to choose a time slot that suits you best and you can commit to. This results in a more conducive learning experience.
I AM A WORKING ADULT. DO YOU HAVE WEEKDAY EVENING SLOTS?
Yes we do. Our last time slot for lesson is 8.15pm on weekdays and 5.15pm on weekends.
WHEN DO I NEED TO PAY FOR MY NEXT LESSON PACKAGE?
You are advised to purchase a new lesson pack before your last lesson as you will need an active lesson pack in order to book your next lesson!
ARE THERE LESSONS ON A MONTH WITH 5 WEEKS?
Lesson packages are no longer allocated to a certain month. There will be lessons on the 5th week of the month if you decide to book a lesson.
ARE THERE LESSONS ON PUBLIC HOLIDAYS?
We are closed on public holidays.
IF I FALL ILL AND CANNOT ATTEND LESSON, DO I GET A MAKE-UP LESSON?
If you fall ill, simply cancel your lesson 12 hours prior to your lesson time and book your next lesson on a different day.
WHAT IF MY INSTRUCTOR IS CANCELS?
If your lesson is cancelled, you will automatically be given the credit to book your lesson on a different day and time.
CAN I BOOK A ROOM FOR PRACTICE?
We are still looking to implement room bookings to also be via the website. But for now, you’d have to contact the school directly to make a booking.
Practice room rates are:
60mins - $10 per student
Do call the school to check the availability of rooms.
Music lessons will have priority over booking of the practice rooms.
Booking of practice rooms must be during available slots and within opening hours.
Practice rooms will not be available for bookings on Public Holidays.
Keep the rooms clean, neat and tidy at all times.
Students are responsible for any damage caused to instruments or practice rooms.
Thunder Rock School reserves the right to assign or change rooms, reschedule, postpone or cancel the booking anytime at our discretion.
ARE THE PRACTICE ROOMS OPEN TO PUBLIC?
No. They are exclusively for Thunder Rock School students only.
DO I NEED TO KEEP BOOKING MY LESSONS WEEKLY? OR WILL MY LESSONS BE RECURRING?
Yes, you may book recurring lessons as long as your preferred teacher is available. We are working towards making lessons available at least 7-14 days in advance, depending on the teacher’s availability.
CAN I CHANGE MY REGULAR LESSON TIME SLOT TO ANOTHER DAY OR TIME?
Yes, you may. You may book for recurring timeslots via the website, as long as your instructor has the date and time available.

Contacting of teachers regarding any administrative matters is strictly prohibited and any requests done via this method will be considered null and void.
